Do you have questions about Asian carps? Are you concerned about how they could impact the Great Lakes if they were to establish? Or, do you just want to learn more about them? If so, then join us for an information session! This event targets anglers, boaters, commercial fishermen, cottagers, Great Lakes enthusiasts or any interested member of the public!
Where: Point Pelee National Park Visitor Centre, 1812 Point Pelee Dr, Leamington, Ontario
When: Monday, August 19th, 2019 from 6:30 PM - 9:00 PM
This FREE event will consist of:
- informative booths where you can network with experts and learn about Asian carps through displays
- a formal presentation from Fisheries and Oceans Canada on early detection and response and;
- a discussion period with a panel of experts made up of representatives from the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, the Invasive Species Centre, and more.
Light refreshments will be provided.
6:30 PM: booths and networking

7:30 PM: award ceremony
7:45 PM: question and answer period
9:00 PM: doors close
Parking information: The Visitor Centre is located approximately 6 km (8 mins driving) past the front gates. Please indicate at the front gate that you are attending the Asian Carp Info Session to receive free entry into the park. The parking lot is located just north of the Visitor Centre and has 180 spots available.
